I recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Toga and Joel from the Wed.Co Podcast for their 42nd episode. It happened late last year but, well, I've been busy!
We recorded at my favourite venue - Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba – if you haven't been there for a wedding, you're missing out on one of Australia's most magnificent venues.
The podcast was an open, flowing conversation about everything I'm passionate about: creating meaningful ceremonies, the evolution of weddings, and why I never use a script (which apparently freaks some people out, but hey – I'm okay with that!).
We dove deep into what makes a ceremony truly memorable and why I believe that your wedding ceremony should be the absolute highlight of your day – not just something to get through before the party starts. After all, it's the reason everyone's there in the first place!
We also chatted about the more practical aspects of celebrancy – the business side, the challenges, and how important it is to have quality audio at ceremonies (honestly, nothing kills the vibe quicker than guests at the back not being able to hear those beautiful vows).
One of my favourite parts of the conversation was exploring how weddings and ceremonies have evolved over the years. What was once rigid and formulaic has become a beautiful canvas for personal expression – and I'm here for it!
My mate Jake Smith was also interviewed recently for the podcast, and I'll be honest – his episode might even be better than mine (though I'll never admit that to his face, only in email).
