Across all of life, there are easy quality-of-life improvements you can make, a few dollars you can spend to make life better by a magnitude. For example, the Zyron Powerpod 100W GaN 3 Travel Charger is by far worth more than the $65 it's going for on Amazon right now. The peace of mind, all the different wall plug adapters, the all-in-one carry case, and because it's 100W, it can fast charge every bit of tech I own, all make it worth thousands to my brain as I head out the door for a trip I know I can throw that in my bag with my laptop and I'm good to go, no need to collect all different chargers from around the house. That's a travel hack, but how about some wedding hacks.
Here are five easy quality-of-life hacks for your wedding. Five things you can bring to your wedding that will bring a magnitude of difference and betterment to the event.
The soundtrack of your wedding is in your entertainment's hands. Whether it's a DJ or a muso/band doesn't bother me, but if they're the best, then your wedding will reflect that. Playing the best songs at the right times with the best equipment and gear at the best volumes in the best way is worth ten times whatever you'll pay them.
And if you leave it in the hands of your mate Jake with Spotify, it'll be worth everything you spent on it.
How many weddings have you planned?
How many weddings has a wedding planner planned?
If that number is substantially different, then you will benefit in an order of magnitude from having a professional think about everything that you don't think to think about.
And honestly, a good wedding planner won't cost you money; they'll save you money, as they bring wisdom and experience to the table.
The heartbeat of your wedding is laid down as the ceremony begins. Your celebrant sets the vibe, sets the mood, the timing, to the entire day. Their microphone picks up the vibe and amplifies it to the crowd amassed waiting to celebrate you.
Don't cheap out on a celebrant, get someone you gel with and someone you are confident can lay down the beat for the whole day. And if they're that good, get them to be the MC as well, instead of getting your funny mate to work the night, because the "on microphone" aspects of being the MC is only half the work. The rest of it is in running the reception and working with all the vendors to keep things on time and make sure the speeches aren't starting while your videographer has steak on a fork.
Whatever you choose for photo, video, social content, get them all from the one team so they work well together.
They don't have to be all from the one company - but that can be nice too - but you want them to work together like clockwork, so make sure they all recommend and like each other.
If you've got kids coming to the wedding, get some childcare or entertainment in for the kids so that they're having fun whilst parents are as well. Or if you're not wanting to carry that burden, let the kids stay at home for the night and let the parents have a break. Either way, childcare is involved, and you get to choose how to slice that cake.
